New test laboratories
In Berlin, TÜV Rheinland has opened one of the world’s most modern test centers for automotive headlamps and rear combination lamps. This laboratory is already one of the few recognized test centers by the German Federal Motor Transport Authority and Type Approval Authorities in many other countries.
In another new and now fully operational test laboratory in Lambsheim, TÜV Rheinland engineers perform type tests and emissions and fuel consumption tests in accordance with EU, International and German national regulations. This includes measuring most gaseous emissions, fuel consumption and CO2 emissions including testing for LPG and CNG vehicles.
At this year’s Automechanika Birmingham, experts from TÜV Rheinland aim to offer advice on a whole array of essential items revolving around engineering and type approval:
- Worldwide approvals for automotive manufacturers (EU, China etc.)
- Type Testing Electronic components and Separate Technical Units (STUs)
- Testing of Lighting Technology and Installation
- Type Testing for Two- and Three-Wheel Vehicles
- Type Testing for Wheels and Tyres
- Vehicle Emissions
- Vehicle Safety – Active & Passive Safety
- TOXPROOF and other customer driven tests
